Keeping Your Face Toward Jesus: Revelation 1:9-20
In the Midst of the Storm, We Must Keep Our Face Toward Jesus

Matthew 14:24–32

Three Truths from Revelation 1:

1. The Knowledge of Christ: He Has Not Forgotten You (Rev 1:9–11)

Jeremiah 23:24 – “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?”
Psalm 34:18: The Lord is Near to the Brokenhearted.
James 4:8 – “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

2. The Power of Christ — He Is Greater Than Our Problems (Rev 1:12–16)

What John Sees in Jesus:
Robe & Sash – Priest and King; His work is finished.
White Hair – Eternal, wise, like the Ancient of Days.
Eyes of Fire – Sees all with holy clarity.
Bronze Feet – Strong and unmovable.

Voice Like Waters – Drowns out all other voices.
Seven Stars – Holds the churches and creation in His hand
Sword from His Mouth – His Word is powerful and sharp.

Shining Face – Radiates divine glory.

Romans 8:31 – “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

3. The Call of Christ — Do Not Be Afraid, Obey (Rev 1:17–20)

Isaiah 41:10 : “Do not fear, for I am with you…”

Philippians 4:6–7 “Be anxious for nothing…”

1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on Him…”

How to Keep Your Face Toward Jesus

Praise and Worship, even in difficulty (Habakkuk 3:17–18; Psalm 34:1; 1 Thess. 5:18)
Surrender your burdens to Him (Psalm 55:22; Phil. 4:6–7
Walk with others (Hebrews 10:24–25; Gal. 6:2)

Where is your focus — the wind and waves, or Jesus?
