How We Face Hard and Evil Days: Luke 13:1-9 and Psalm 46

1st We Grieve the Day With Hope: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

An Anticipation of Victory in this Life and in the Life to Come:

1 John 3:1-3

We Hope because We Are Beloved Children of God. 1
We Hope Because we Are not yet What we Will Be: 2
We Hope Because We Know When He Appears we will be Like Him. 2
We who Hopes in this Word, Will be More and More Like Jesus in This Life: 3

2nd We Face the Evil Day With Hope, by Humbly, Repeatedly, Examining Our Lives: Luke 13:1-9

Facing the Evil Day: 1-3:

Luke 13:2 Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? 3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Facing the Hard Day: 4-5

Luke 13:4 Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Luke 13:5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

What has God asked of you that you have not done?
What has God asked you to quit doing that you have not Quit?

Galatians 5:19-24

– We Repent: Change our mind, about us, our lives and sin and we turn and go with the Spirit. We make the Change.
– We Confess the sin, repent and turn.
– We Move On!

3rd We Put Our Trust in Our Great God and Are Never Afraid.

– He is Our Refuge, Our Strength, A Very Present Help in Trouble. 1-3

– He is Our River of Life: Makes His People Glad: 4

John 7:37-39 With Rivers of Living Water

– He is Our Help, Therefore we will Not be Moved: 5

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken

Psalm 55:22 Cast Your burden upon the Lord and he will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the lord.

Why are we unmoved by Trials:

• They wean us from worldly things.
• They call us to eternal hope,
• They Reveal what we tatally and truly love
• They enable us to help other who suffer
• They equip us for greater work
• They produce in us endurance to be like Christ in His Sufferings.

– We Can Be Still and Know that He is God.
